New Year, Same People Firing Shots At A Taco Bell Over Hot Sauce

Fox San Diego - Police were searching a man who fired several shots through a Taco Bell drive-thru window when he didn’t get the taco sauce he wanted.

It happened recently at a Taco Bell in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. When officers got to the scene of a reported shooting, they learned what that a fight over hot sauce could have caused the ordeal.

“It appears that there was some type of confrontation with an employee through the drive-thru. A man was complaining about not getting enough sauce, or not getting any taco sauce and was very upset,” Sgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department said.

According to police, the suspect then fired at least one round through the drive-thru window.

The restaurant was left with shattered glass and a boarded up drive-thru window.

I often think about this- has people going ballistic at fast food restaurants always been a thing, or has it dramatically increased in the last 5 years or so? Maybe the stories are just wider reported now, but I feel like we can’t go a week anymore without someone turning into the Hulk over a straw, or someone punching an employee over a burnt french fry, or someone pulling a gun and unloading the clip because they want another fire sauce.

Was this always a thing? In the 1970s were people throwing Molotov Cocktails through McDonald’s fast food windows if their Big Mac only had 1 pickle instead of 2? In 1985 did people burn down a Roy Rogers if they were out of drumsticks? To be honest, that would be warranted. I think Roy Rogers are only in rest stops from Maryland to New York now, but it’s probably the best fast food friend chicken money can buy. And if my fries don’t come in a holster I would probably try to fight whomever was behind the counter at the time.

So now that I think about it, I believe these fast food fights and shooting are justified. All this man wanted was some sauce for his taco, and for whatever reason, he was given a hard time about it. It should be simple- he buys a taco, he gets hot sauce packets. No need to be stingy about them either. And if you are, expect a gun to be drawn and fired. Fair is fair.
